Sutiaji Biodata of Malang Mayor for the Period 2018-2022

The following is the biodata of Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji Period 2018-2022.

The Mayor of Malang, Sutiaji was born on May 13, 1964. Sutiaji is from Lamongan.

The father of 4 children used to go to school in his area of origin, Lamongan.

He went to school at Mi Ma'arif Mojoasem, Laren, Lamongan. After graduating from Madrasah Ibtida'iyyah, he continued his education at MTS Negeri Babat, Lamongan.

After graduating from Madrasah Tsanawiyyah, then he decided to seek knowledge in Jombang, MAN (Madrasah Aliyah Negeri) Tambakberas.

From here, then Sutiaji continued his studies at IAIN Malang at the Tarbiyah Faculty (Now IAIN Malang called as UIN Malang) in the hope of becoming an educator who can teach Islamic religion that has been obtained at the boarding school.

Besides studying, young Sutiaji also participated in several organizations. In 1984, Sutiaji even replaced Moh. Thohir as president of the HIMMABA (Malang Alumni Student Association Bahrul Ulum).

At this time HIMMABA was focused on moving in social sphere, use as a media to practice theology which he got at the boarding schools.

Since this time, Sutiaji began to enjoy the world of organization, both on Intra Campus or Extra Campus.

The experience of the Sutiaji organization was brilliant, besides the founder of HIMMABA, he is also one of the initiators of PMII Rayon Chondrodimuko UIN Maliki Malang, he also officiate as BKM Coordinator for Lowokwaru.

Sutiaji's hobby for working in the world of organization is continued. Then he joined PKB party in Malang City.

Sutiaji's closeness with PKB is reasonable, because he is a Secretary of the MWC NU Lowokwaru Malang, Vice Secretary of the NU Malang City Branch, then in 2011 Sutiaji become Vice President of NU Malang City's Branch until 2016.

At that time Sutiaji becomes a member of the Malang City DPRD during the 2009-2014 through National Awakening Party (PKB) fraction.

Meanwhile, in the management of the Nahdhatul Ulama branch, Sutiaji began to get close to Anton’s figure, until finally they both paired up as candidates for Mayor and Vice Mayor of Malang for the period 2013-2018.
